Restoration record

Preservation Notes

This release keeps source recovery and presentation separate so future researchers can distinguish evidence from restoration work.

Recovery queue

925 URL resources

924 were marked recovered on the final manifest. The lone failed URL points to images/top_left-btm.jpg, which is nevertheless present as a valid earlier recovered JPEG, so all 925 queued paths are represented on disk.

Unique files

498 preserved paths

Multiple archive URLs often map to the same local historical file, producing 498 unique on-disk paths from the 925 queued URL variants.

Screenshot integrity

186 of 186

Every image referenced by the ten original BladeKeep screenshot gallery pages is present in the preservation set.

Preservation master & public mirror

The private preservation master retains the recovered files as collected, recovery reports and restoration sources. This GitHub Pages edition contains the modern archive plus a restoration-generated static reconstruction of BladeKeep. The reconstruction converts .shtml to ordinary HTML, rewrites dead absolute links, removes obsolete forced-frame redirects and fills archived SSI error slots using navigation recovered from intact pages.

No restoration-generated HTML should be mistaken for an untouched historical capture. Checksums and recovery records are retained under preservation-data/, while the complete source recovery remains separately preserved.

Conservative binary policy: the public mirror records but does not redistribute the recovered NWNOffline.zip or moslo.exe. Their checksums and finding aids are available on the Downloads page.

Open archive stewardship

Rights holders, original site owners & contributors

This is an independent, non-commercial preservation project created to keep historically significant material relating to BladeKeep and the original AOL Neverwinter Nights from disappearing. All trademarks, copyrighted works, artwork, software, written material and other intellectual property remain with their respective creators and rights holders. No ownership of the original material is claimed by this preservation project.

The recovered BladeKeep pages themselves state that BladeKeep.com, Sacred Silver Blades and SSB graphics were © 1996–2001 by Medar, and that the site had no affiliation with the game companies.

If you are Medar, an original BladeKeep administrator or contributor, an original author or artist, or another legitimate rights holder, we would be very happy to hear from you.

If you would like material corrected, attributed differently, removed, or restored under your own stewardship, please contact the archive maintainer through the project’s published contact or repository channel. If an original owner or appropriate rights holder wishes to resume hosting or stewardship of the BladeKeep archive, the maintainer will make a good-faith effort to cooperate, including providing the recovered files, restoration work, manifests and other preservation materials needed to help make that transition.

If you contributed to BladeKeep or the original NWN community and simply spot a missing credit, mistaken context, or a story that deserves preserving, those corrections are welcome too.

The goal of this project is preservation of the history, not ownership of it.
