Tour 1/20
Hearing vile rumors of a ghost ship anchored in Port Llast, I gathered a
group of adventurers with me to investigate. Accompanying me from
Neverwinter City were k13strider, relinam, ellllisse, pal raven, obi wan104,
arathorn3, and serpentor. We made excellent time thru the warehouse district
and windycliffs, only stumbling upon 1 group of lizard men and their pet pyro
snake. The trail to the Port Llast Inn was full of boars and rats, and we
lost arathorn3 to a random Punt Monster. Reviving ourselves at the inn, we
set off for a quick report from the Harbor Master, then ventured into the
ghost ship itself, encountering vast numbers of undead. Ellllisse fell
victum to the dreaded "Out-of-Time" Monster. soulaslm and dromlarid joined
us to strengthen our numbers. Nearing the captain's cabin, we stumbled upon
some phase spiders, and k13strider valiently placed himself in front to
defend the rest of the group. Unfortunately, all 3 spiders grabbed him and
he fell to the massive amount of poison they injected. Vowing to avenge him,
we forged on, slaying ghouls and finding a sailor that turned to stone before
our eyes! Searching further, we discovered vile medusea! We defeated the
first three, but they must have called reinforcements because 3 more jumped
us as soon as we turned around, stoning the entire party except soulaslm and
myself. Disheartened but determined, we hurried back to Neverwinter City to
inform Lord Nasher and seek healing for our fallen companions.
Thank you to all who joined me. Next time we shall be more victorious. :)

GoH January booth #2
The first ever GoH Hi/Lo booth took place on January 25th, where contestants
had to stand up to blasts of the local cold air in the form of ice storms.
This time, the person who did take the most damage would win the 6 pearl
prize, and that was Sir Dorvan. Dorvan took a mighty 45 points of damage
from the cold, and simply laughed off the pain.
Dwyvyrn would take the lowest damage. The sturdy dwarf took only 21 points
of damage, and won 3 pearls.
Congratulations to both!

Tour, 1/26
Gathering a group of adventurers around me, I discussed with them the rumors
I heard about trouble in Windycliffs. k13strider, ekans1, tipanock,
beckersurf, thoeran, ironplate, and elrond iii joined me. Bravely, we set
off, discovering no resistance between Neverwinter City and Windycliffs. On
the green paths to Windycliffs proper, tipanock vanished without trace. As
we pondered a second on what to do, we were beset by a group of lizardmen and
a pyro snake! Quickly, we rushed to do battle. As the 'smoke' of the battle
cleared, beckersurf had also disappeared! Windycliffs was indeed a dangerous
place to be. Undaunted, we continued, speaking with various townspeopleand
investigating ransacked houses. Thieves dashed from the shadows several
times to attempt to rob us, but we held strong, defeating their bands each
time. Inside one of the mansions, we detected evidence of recent activity
and heard the sounds of battle raging thru a door. Quickly, we dash thru, to
discover a Centaur in dire need of aid. While I concentrated on keeping the
Centaur alive with healing spells, the rest of the party attacked and slew
the gnolls and rats that had cornered the Centaur. The Centaur gave us
further clues to the trouble in Windycliffs. Needing to take care of some
Clan business in Neverwinter City, Ironplate carried word back to Lord Nasher
for us. We headed to the Sheriff's house, finding a secret door!
Investigating, we stumbled on a Cloud Giant and it's pet lizards. Thoeran
bravely gave his life attempting to defeat the giant. Traveling on, we
fought Minotaurs and Umber Hulks, and finally a nest of Manticores! Tired,
we dragged ourselves to the inn, resting and healing before heading back to
Neverwinter to report to Lord Nasher.
Thank you all who joined me in this successful cleansing of Windycliffs.

Dear NW Abby,
I have a terrible problem. A certain member of my guild, who will remain
nameless, is causing some unrest in our Guild Hall.
The reason for this unrest is because, well to be quite frank, he stinks. I
mean he smells bad.
He spends much time in the sewers combatting evil, and we appreciate that and
such, but let's just say he brings a touch of work home with him.
How can we tactfully let him know how we feel?
Sign me, Nauseated in Neverwinter, Sick in Southport, and trying to stay
up-Windycliffes
HC Saybr
Lord at Arms, Harper Duchy
Dear Nauseated in Neverwinter, Sick in Southport, and trying to stay
up-Windycliffes,
While there are a number of solutions that come to mind, such as ambushing
him with a soapy water spray or a simple "Clean" cantrip, it may be better
(though admittedly harder) to be honest with your Brother.
Personally, if my hair is mussed or if I've got lipstick on my teeth or
something, I'd much rather a friend tell me so I can fix it and not be
embarrassed in public. The same thing applies here but to an even greater
degree. Hygiene is important and if your unnamed friend isn't up to par,
he'll grow to become a social outcast. People will begin to avoid him,
children will gawk, even animals will shy away.
It's your duty as a Guild Brother and a friend to tell him about his problem,
lest his entire social life, public image, and very psyche be damaged.

Incarceration
(Submitted by: PAL Lobur)
Lobur opened his eyes, and looked wildly around him. Where in the name of
Lathander was he?!? Around him, nearly a dozen other people were sitting up,
and registering similar reactions. A cacophony of curses, screams, and
whimpering started, until another voice rang out "QUIET!"
Lobur looked at the speaker, and saw that she was dressed in the uniform of
the Neverwinter Guard. Her nametag said "NW AZIZA".
He surveyed his surroundings. Damp black walls met his gaze in every
dirction. From the shackles and manacles on the wall, it was obvious he was
in the Neverwinter Prison. He curbed his anxiety, and spoke to the guard.
"Guard, I am Lobur, honored to sytel myself PAL Lobur. what is this all
about?" He kept his tone civil... the Players Assistance League was fairly
new guild in Neverwinter, and rapidly gaining the respect of the town and
authorities. He wanted to do nothing to tarnish that image.
"PAL Lobur, you - and these others - are being held pending an
investigation." Aziza answered somberly.
"Investigation into what?" he asked. This was not sounding good.
"The matter of using contaband items in the domain of Neverwinter."
"Contraband!?!" he snorted. "I was standing in the Inn, someone handed me a
pair of bracers, and then I was knocked unconcious." He shrugged. "I awoke
here."
"Yeah!"
"Same here!"
"I was at the Dracs, same thing happened!"
The chorus of agreement echoed almost painfully through the cells. Aziza
nodded. "We will investigate the matter. It seems likely that you are
victims of Zhentarim agents attempting to sow discord in Neverwinter.
However, you understand, we cannot take chances. We must thoroughly check you
all out."
"How long?" Lobur asked, a sinking feeling going through his guts.
"Perhaps a week."
"A week!"
"Are you nuts!"
"I want my lawyer!"
Verbal abuse began spewing forth from the other cells. Lobur sighed. This
would not reflect well on the guild, his being incarcerated like this.
However, it seemed all he could do now would be to comport himself in a
manner that would perhaps salvage something for his guildsibs. He raised his
voice, and barked "Lighten up people! She's only doing her job!" He spoke to
Aziza again. "Milady, I will await word of my aquittal and release." He
walked to the corner of his cell, and sat down on the rough pallet. This was
going to be a long wait.
And when he was released... let these Zhentarim agents beware... he'd found a
new hobby to augment his duties for PAL... ferretting out these ruthless
pieces of otyugh excretement, and bringing them to justice. He smiled
grimly. It was good to have a goal... it gave him something to take his mind
off of his boredom.
"Consign your souls to Bane, " he whispered. "For if I find you, you are
mine!"
The Raven
(Submitted by: Riklaun)
Prologue:
The house is dark as people walk by. The home of Braldt2 & Nalynn is locked
up tight, yellow ribbons grace the trees in the front yard. A messenger
approaches the front door and sees a note tacked to the door. He reads:
"To whom it may concern, I have received word that my beloved husband of only
a month or so is no longer among the living. It's a rumor actually, but all
efforts to find him or reach him have failed. There is no clue to his
whereabouts and my heart aches over his absence. I have gone off in search of
him with Riklaun, but am not hopeful of finding any trace of him. I am
terribly sad and am beginning to feel life is no longer worth living...."
The rest of the paper is soaked with tears which have caused the ink to run,
making the rest of the message unreadable. A look of concern crosses the
messenger's face as he hurries off to inquire of anyone whether they might
know where Nalynn has headed.
Chapter 1
A long, mournful wail pierces the cold night air in the Realm of Grey
Company. Several elves, disturbed from their slumber by the terrible sound,
open their doors, walking into the darkness. Who is making this agonizing
cry and what could have happened to cause such misery? A shadowy figure
makes its way into the village, the elves watch warily, wondering if evil is
about to descend upon their community.
As the figure approaches the square, its features become more identifiable -
it is Nalynn, Wife of Braldt2. She collapses into a heap by the fountain,
sobbing uncontrollably.
"Alas, what am I to do? My beloved has disappeared without a trace. All of my
messengers have returned to advise me they are unable to get word to him. I
fear the worst. The citizens of WP have shown neither concern nor sympathy
and I am at my wits' end. Prithee, someone find Riklaun. Tell him I am here
and I think I shall die for the terrible emptiness which has taken hold of
my heart. If the minions of evil have seized him, I no longer want to live.
I cannot imagine life without my beloved beside me." She contemplates the
magical dagger in its sheathe and the mysterious potion she found in some god
forsaken place while on her way to Grey Company.
She begins to sob again, the elves' hearts ache over her pain and deep
sorrow. But they seem at a loss as to what to do. Meanwhile a youngster,
filled with a sense of intense purpose, dons his cloak and heads off into
the night, to Riklaun's home. He MUST be found and told of this poor lady's
plight. Perhaps he will know what to do.
In the failing light of a late autumn afternoon a solitary figure stood
transfixed upon the Triboar- Westbridge trail. Above, torn tatters of white
clouds fly past under a steel gray sky. For a moment he listened and then,
after murmuring a short sentence of harsh syllables, faded from view. No
sooner had he disappeared, than another small running figure lurched
unsteadily around a bend in the trail and made for the very spot that the
first had stood.
Chest heaving, the young boy yearned to throw himself to the ground and end
the torture of the long run. Never would he, however, for his heart was
pierced with sadness for the grief of Lady Nalynn. Not until he reached the
home of Riklaun would he rest. Bending his will back to the task of his
journey, he stubbornly willed his pleading legs to bear him onward.
Rewarding him with a fresh burst of speed he rounded a bend in the trail
that he knew marked the last leg of the journey. A grim smile flashed upon
his face, he hoped Riklaun was home .
As the small figure approached, the elf realized that he had been mistaken.
What he had first mistaken for a dwarf or halfling was actually a small boy,
running as if pursued by the demons that haunted his darkest dreams. "What
could it be that drives one so young with such urgency", thought the elf.
Closer now he could see the tortured expression on the boys face as he
strove to master his faltering body. His breath, ragged and broken, plumed
about him in the chill air. "Whatever it is, I shall not sleep lest I aid
him," thought the elf. Thus resolved he watched as the boy drew nigh. As he
passed the elf stepped behind him and caught him by the cloak. "Hold young
one, I am a friend", he cried .
From nowhere the boy felt is cloak caught up for behind and heard the cry of
an elven voice. Startled, he stumbled to the ground. So intent was he upon
the mastery of his rebellious legs that he failed to understand the words
that had been spoken to him. Thinking himself assailed, he groped for his
dagger and made to defend himself. Rolling onto his back, he beheld his
assailant. Several feet away stood an elf. Though clad in worn and travel
stained clothing, the boy could see the glimmer of a mithril coat of rings
beneath. Suddenly the boy realized that the elf was smiling. Reaching into
a fold in his cloak, the elf drew out a small flask. 'Drink lad," he
commanded. "Then thee shall tell me what brings thee to the lonely place
with such urgency...."
Lywnis watched as the lad downed the last of his cordial. Instantly his
breathing slowed and the color in his face dimmed to normal. In a moment
the boy spoke. As he listened to the tale of Nalynn and her missing husband
his face grew grim. Sorrow did he feel for her, yet there was more. Lywnis,
himself, had cast himself into the fire of love and now reveled in it's
sweet burning. Yet one cannot be consumed by this flame and not fear the
day that it is doused. For a second his heart grew cold at the thought, but
then he pushed it aside, deep into that place where darkness and unbidden
fears dwell within each of us. Turning his mind back to the moment the
thought ruefully of his failure in this matter. Several times had he
attempted to contact Braldt himself only to have his messenger return
unsuccessful. "Alas I am a fool", he thought, "had I but acted promptly
the trail might still be found. Now it is cold and shall require skill
beyond what I posses to find it."
Bidding the boy to rise, he cast about him wards of protection so that he
might complete his journey to Riklaun. After watching the young boy depart
Lywnis whistled into the night a long series of shrill notes. Wrapping
himself his cloak Lywnis sat back against bole of a large tree and watched as
darkness shrouded the land. Deep into the night did he wait. Almost had
the given up hope that his call had been heard, when a shrill cry cut
through the night sky above him. Unto him had come his friend the Falcon and
with him four of his sons and daughters. Circling upon the night sky they
cried their greetings to him.
"Noble birds of the hunt", he in turn cried unto them, " I have grave need
for thy swift wings and keen eye. My cousin, Braldt is missing and his wife
Nalynn is distraught unto contemplation of taking her life. I beg for you
search where I cannot and to carry word to her not to loose her faith in this
world."
"Upon the ground did'st thee find me, Lywnis", shrilled the Falcon, "broken
and dying, thee nursed me back to health. Thee has known my children from
the shell and thy wards have guarded my nest better than my wife and I ever
could. Nay, thee need not beg anything from me for you are first among my
friends upon this earth. Command us as you would."
Then did Lywnis call down to him each son and daughter in turn. Instructed
as to his will, one flew north, south, east, and the last west. Below them
they scoured the land as only they could. Upon the wind, to all who could
hear and understand, came their mournful call, "Where art thou Braldt?"
At the last Lywnis called down to him his friend. "Lord of the Hunt, Friend,
Swiftest of the Swift. I send thee unto Nalynn. Tell her that I have done
all that I can and that if trace of Braldt be found that she shall hear of
it forthwith. Tell her as well that she that though her pain be great she
must not succumb to it. Sore shall it be for her to walk in this Realm
without her love, but she must for he may await her yet. Yea though they
may not walk together again in this Realm, across the sea lies Evermeet.
When the labors of the elves in this Realm are finished, each of us shall
receive the call to come at last unto that blessed land. None knows when
that call may come, and none may resist it when it does. Mayhap Braldt has
heard that call and awaits the day that her labors are completed. Upon the
day that she makes that journey, mayhap her heart shall be healed."
With that the Falcon leapt into the sky and wheeled of into the breaking
dawn. Quickly had that night passed, and involuntarily Lywnis glance into
the sky. Above him, through a rent in the scuttling clouds gleamed
i'silelen en cormamin. Smiling, he wrapped himself in his cloak and lay down
for a brief rest .
Back in town, Solack had called all of the Seekers for a conference in the
new meeting hall. Those that were able to attend came as asked, with those
not able to attend taking part by mass ESP. Solack, as usual, was a bit
late, coming in at the last moment.
"Sorry I'm late, has some pressing business to take care of. Now then, the
reason I called you to order. I have sad news. It seems Drago XaR, in his
quest to gain the WP acceptance of the Seekers, has fallen in the field of
battle while searching for Braldt2. He died heroically fighting to find the
remains of Braldt2 before he fell. There is still hope, though, because if
his remains may be found he may once again be resurrected. How do I know
this, you ask. If you look at his Tapestry, you will find that it has gone
blank. This is an indication that the person has been defeated in life and
has gone on to death." Everyone is stunned by this news. No one had
thought Drago would ever fall.
Solack again speaks, "Nalynn seems to be on a quest with Riklaun to find
Braldt2 as well, and I think we should also take up the quest. Perhaps
during it we will also be able to find Drago's remains so that he may once
again join us in the world of the living. Who will lead us in the quest, and
where will we start?" The Seekers murmer amongst themselves as what to do.
Darkness turns to dawn and faint beams of light pierce the morning clouds in
the square in which Nalynn lies. Her dress is rumpled, her face still
showing streaks of the tears which stained her face as she wept herself into
the sweet oblivion of sleep. A shrill cry comes from high up in the air.
Nalynn awakens, shivering in the cold morning air, wondering from whence the
sound is come.
A Falcon swoops down gracefully, riding the air floes and currents. He
circles several times, eyeing the woman all alone on this morning, wondering
if he is soon to complete his appointed mission. He notes a sparkle of light
emanating from her hand and recognizes the engagement ring which bears the
unmistakable imprint of Elfin craftsmanship and is confident that he has
located his quarry. He plunges to the ground, alighting on the rock against
which Nalynn has spent the night.
He begins to speak, to pass on the message sent by Lywnis. Nalynn watches
him, puzzled. He quickly realizes she is unschooled in the language of the
Falcon. He walks over to her, and gestures toward the small vial attached to
his leg. Nalynn gently removes the vial and opens it. "Ah what a pleasing
aroma - not unlike the scent of sweet jasmine flowers on a warm summer's
eve." She takes a small sip of the sweet nectar, wondering if this is to be
her last - could it be that the Falcon has come to help her end her sorrow
and suffering? The liquid is sweet and syrupy, and tastes ever so good.
Emboldened as she notes that it seems to be having no ill effect, she
swallows the rest of the liquid, then returns the vial to its owner. And
listens in amazement as the Falcon begins to speak.
"Lady Nalynn, I bring word from my cherished friend, Lywnis. He has heard of
your plight and has sent my brothers and sisters off in their quest to find
your dear husband, Braldt2. Long and hard have I flown to bring this word
to you - Lywnis begs you to reconsider the actions you contemplate, and urges
you to have faith that your beloved will be found."
"Oh, kind and noble Falcon, thank you for your message. But my heart is so
heavy, I do not know if I have the strength or will to go on. There is a
great emptiness in my soul - a deep hollow left by the separation from my
husband of so few months." Tears begin to trickle from her eyes. "Tell, me,
dear Falcon, has Riklaun been located yet? I have heard that he intends to
lead another search for Braldt2 and I MUST, of course, accompany him on the
quest. But I don't know how much longer I can hold on...I am in such great
despair."
"Fair lady, I know not if Riklaun has been located. I can only tell you what
Lywnis has told me. But I did not see him as I flew to your side. When I have
rested, I shall fly aloft and see what news I can gather."
"Well then, stay here with me and rest sweet Falcon. I shall protect you as
you regain your energy." She extends her arm and the Falcon hops onto it,
taking care not to pierce her delicate wrist with his talons of steel.
"There will be no hood placed upon this Falcon's head", she muses. Together,
they head toward a small cafe which has just opened its doors to greet the
morning crowd.
Above the town, a lone bird circles, searching. He spots his quarry and
flies down toward the ground. He swoops in and grabs the feild mouse
quickly in his talons. The Falcon alights on a rock to eat when he is
starteled by a rustling in the forest. His senses perk up and he notices an
elf walking down the trail. "My, what an interesting lunch we have there."
Riklaun says to the bird. The Falcon leaps into the air and flies off in
the direction of Lwynis.
Chapter 2
As the hour drew near, Riklaun saw only one who wished the return of the
noble Braldt2. His wife stood beside, waiting for word of others. when the
appointed hour came, the two friends set out to find him. They traveled
east towards Nightsiege. The tracks that Riklaun had been following led them
in this direction. As they passed through Floodblest, The tracks led into
the well, and also around it. Nalynn bade Riklaun to check the well.
Rik and Nalynn went down into the well and were beset upon from some bugbears
and a carrion crawler. Nalynn did not see them coming and the crawly hit
her as she was picking the door's lock. Two fireballs stopped the rest of
them from coming any closer. Silently, they walked deeper into the caverns
following the footprints. They used infravision when possible to hide their
movements. Several fights later they came upon a mage who commanded them to
leave or die. Before they could interrogate him, his guards attacked. He
fled through a secret door. The mage had disappeared and could not be found.
The trail had turned cold.
Riklaun and Nalynn set out again towards Nightsiege with several bands of
orcs trying to stop them from their quest. Even though their number was 2,
and the orcs numbered in the dozens, some well placed spells equaled the
fight. They finally got to Nightsiege and to an inn. Riklaun told Nalynn to
rest there while he checked out a dragon sighting nearby. She did not wish
to be left alone in this godforsaken place and followed him. Riklaun
trailed two black dragons to their lair and fought them.
The dragons proved to be very tough and had Nalynn gasping for breath as she
hid behind a tree bandaging her wounds. The Dragons surrounded Riklaun and
spit their foul acid onto him. Returning the favor, he threw a fireball
into them catching them off guard. They went down with one shot. Then
Gorgamias flew down and chilled the air. If it were not for quick thinking,
Riklaun would be dead, or even worse, stone. The gorgamias got caught in a
lightning bolt which staggered one. Disoriented, it breathed on it's
companion, utterly obliterating him. As it still reeled, Rik threw several
magic missiles into it, slaying it. The two friends limped to the inn tired
and weak. They decided to rest in the town and try to get some info from
the townspeople.
Nalynn looks up from her morning repast, the Falcon close by her side. A
paper appears out of thin air and flutters down onto the table where she
sits. She sees the writing and her interest is immediately piqued as she
sees the name of Braldt2 inscribed upon it. "Could this, at long last, be the
sign I seek" she posits.
The message sent from Braldt2:
It has been said in legend, that if a man were to have died without
fulfilling a life's dream, or had the want to transcend life and death
itself, he could be delivered back to the Earth in the company of a Raven to
fulfill his deathwish. Such is the case. Do not attempt to contact me
further, such attempts shall doubtless prove futile. My untimely death has
rent a hole in the soul of my love, and thus in my own heart. The bond of
love has been broken, but shall not go unpunished. Here is my final tale:::
Twas a clear night, crisp with the excitement of an Autumn eve. I was
traveling in the company of my closest male kindred, Dreemknight and
Riklaun. We sook not adventure this night, but peace. Our task of keeping
the peace seemingly fulfilled to our best this night, we strolled along the
Neverwinter River on the outskirts of the Woods. Alas, being the brave souls
we were, a night of peace would not content. Dreemknight elected to journey
to Nightsiedge and try his luck in the gambling halls, while I ventured with
Riklaun into these woods to hunt such vile creatures as can be found there. I
shall not dwell on these times, they are unimportant. As we finished up a
bloody night in the endless battle for good, we came to a bridge and decided
to forsake our cloaks and cleanse our wounds in the brook nearby. Such
frolicking came to a sudden end as a group of bridge trolls came upon us.
Unarmed except for our minds, they provided quite a challenge, or would for
an inexperienced party. Our spells put them to a quick and quite suprised
end. All but one were slain by a powerful fireball of my own creation. As
the expected spell was brought forth from Riklaun's lips, I watched the troll
freeze, held in his tracks. The beam died out slowly...as another was
brought forth....aimed at my own breast! As I stood there, helpless, I
thought "That Riklaun cant get enough of getting me wet....Now he must catch
me undefended"
Gazing at my friend, I beheld not the expected mischievous grin, but a mask
of seriousness. Striding to his belongings along shore, he sifted through
until he found what he was looking for. It was small, but I gasped for all
my life when I beheld what it was...the mythical Drow Dagger of Infinite
Slaying. "More trolls perchance?" I wondered, "why did he choose that weapon
for such enemies, it is only useful for the True Death of those whom it's
evil spirits can touch fully..."
I can attest to the evil of it's full touch as it was plunged into my breast.
The pained look of my dear friend as he did such a bloodless deed has been
worn into my memory forever. As I fell, looking deep into what life was to
come next for me, I heard him mutter something about birth, destiny, and
sacrifice.
I apologize that I cannot give the full details of that night, the pure
unadulterated shock that it caused me is all that is left for me, now and
forever. Questions spin the weave in this nothingness, doubtless I shall
never know the answer to them. My deed is done here, I leave this bloody
burden in your hands. The binds of death that grip me only allow me to enter
this world so far, I doubt I have the strength to deliver another message.
It is up to you that this deed not go unpunished. The good elves in Grey and
those Warriors of Peace that I have known, or are known to my love. I yearn
for eternal rest, and beg of thee to do what you must to make right what has
been wronged. Nalynn my love, persevere. If I can bear to have it done, you
can bear to live on until such natural means would bring us together again.
If he is truly evil at heart, drow through and through, then I must not be
the only one wronged by Riklaun. He has doubtless snuck his blade into backs
other than mine, and fight for them as you would for me. He was a most
convincing friend, I can hardly believe....
My last wish is that all his wrongs toward myself and others be put right,
regardless of cost. He was a cloaked evil before.... Quoth the
Raven....nevermore................................
She reads this missive of RAVENLORE, puzzled by what Braldt has communicated
as his apparent last words. "Riklaun??? A traitor??? Killed my beloved
husband? NO!! It cannot be. It MUST NOT be true. The brave Riklaun, who has,
for so many days and nights provided me comfort in my loneliness and led me
thru strange lands??? This MUST be a false letter. Who could write such
terrible things about our dear friend?"
Furious, she crumples the note and throws it into the fire. As the parchment
begins to burn, an eerie blue glow emanates from the paper and a plume of
otherworldly smoke escapes...rises into the air like a soul reaching for the
heavens above. She watches in amazement and a most unsettling shiver besets
her spine.
"Did you see that?" She asks the Falcon. The Falcon nods in silent assent. A
deep sense of foreboding falls over Nalynn as she ponders the message from
beyond. "What trickery and treachery are afoot here?"
But she cannot, nay will not believe that Riklaun has had anything to do with
her husband's disappearance. It is too preposterous, it is the unthinkable.
She quickly struggles to push the images from her consciousness. She returns
to her breakfast, but it is now cold and tasteless as the seeds of suspicion
have been sown.
"Riklaun??? Could it be he?......."
Later in the day, Riklaun and Lyanna stand together in the brisk winds of the
Nightsiege woods. "I fear that my sister cannot be here tonight." she said.
"She is too distraught to continue on". Lyanna bundles her cloak up closer
to her body. Nalynn turns from Riklaun and re-checks her disguise. Braldt
would be glad she has strayed Riklaun from the truth. "Fear not Lyanna, we
shall find him. Nalynn would be proud that so many people have come to her
aid." Riklaun said. "Let us make haste. He cannot be far."
Riklaun and Lyanna(Nalynn) ventured forth towards the Nightsiege caverns. As
they walked towards the Underdark, they were besieged by several Manticores.
Lyanna stayed back, stating that she was not too well skilled in the
fighting art. A couple of Fireballs took out the Manticores. Riklaun
continued down the road towards the caverns. A figure stood upon the road
ahead. The knight gleamed in the chill air. "Hail Riklaun." He said. "You
may not remember me, but you led me into the Warriors of Peace encampment
when I needed a place to stay. Now that they are dis-banded and their leader
is gone, I have joined the Seekers. I have come to join you in your quest
to search for Braldt2. Since his disappearance, the guild has fallen to
hard times. The members are mostly in a drunken state and the Tavern is
closed down. I fear none of the members are willing to find him, rather
letting him die in the unknowns. I am not like that. I know a good friend
when I see him. We shall find him if it takes us to the ends of Toril."
"Zarn1982, I am glad to see you." Riklaun said. "We are glad that someone
could join us now, dark times are ahead and we need a beacon of light."
"Zarn, I am Lyanna, Sister of Nalynn." Lyanna said. "She is too distraught
to be here tonight."
"Well met indeed fair lady." Zarn said. "Let us continue. Time is short."
The three adventurers followed the trail towards the caverns. Zarn slipped
up to Lyanna as Riklaun took point. "I have heard Riklaun may have killed
Braldt2" he whispered. "Is this true? Could our friend have turned evil?"
"I do not know, But I intend to find out. That is why I am disguised."
Lyanna said.
As they approached the caves, A large band of orcs came at them from all
sides. Riklaun launched two fireballs, one to each side. The orcs were
decimated and fleeing into the woods. Riklaun laughed. A look of shock
crossed Zarn's face. Zarn started to edge back towards the tree line, hoping
to get away from the elf. Riklaun spun around and faced him. Zarn tripped
over a branch and fell backwards. Riklaun laughed evily as he started to
cast a spell. Lyanna's face whitened.
"So you did kill him! How could you?!" She yelled as she pulled a dagger out,
in hopes to backstab him. Riklaun's concentration was broken and the spell
fizzled. He turned towards Nalynn and said one word. She froze in her
tracks. "Poor Nalynn, I knew all along that it was you. You wished to lull
me into a false sense of security, but it was I who lulled YOU into a false
sense of security." He turned towards Zarn but he was no where to be found.
"Cowards, all. May Lloth have mercy on your soul..."
Riklaun pulled the ancient drow artifact out. He plunged the Drow Dagger of
Infinite Slaying into her breast. Riklaun turned and walked into the woods.
Little did he know that Zarn was watching from behind a tree....
Bloody Rose
(Submitted by: Iadris)
We met near a stream, by a wild rosebush,
Our faces tinged with springtime blush.
I could not keep my cheeks from their flush
When my John first said to me in a hush,
"My sweet, you are well named, fair Rose,
For your cheeks could outblush any rose."
With his mallet my John could mold any stone.
His prized chisel could sculpt a vase or a throne.
Under his touch, hardest stone was supple as clay,
He would shape it as eagerly as a child at play.
John the carver was king over the coldest marble.
People declared, "John's work is quite a marvel."
The blessing of all the races was upon the carver,
People whispered as his fame spread ever farther.
Dwarven strength, Elven grace flowed in his hands.
Gnome's dexterity, Man's passion kindled in his hands.
"I mean no boast when I say I'm skilled," said John in repose,
"But my chisel can't quicken stone to blush like my fair Rose."
When the duke was slain in battle one December,
His kinsmen placed him in a marble burial chamber.
Upon the sepulcher, his valorous form was engraved.
"Of all your works, none is finer," the duchess proclaimed,
As she gave John a pouch of gold coins for the likeness.
Even in deep mourning, the widow displayed kindness.
"I have earned my fame at last," John beamed,
As he unfurled a white veil with a silvery gleam,
Filmy as dragonfly's wings and Elven-made.
"Will you wear this as a wedding veil, fair maid?
Let highborn ladies at court have their jewels and gowns.
Pink rosebuds will be your gems, this veil your crown."
The duke's funeral drew many of Faerun highborn.
Though somberly attired, they were richly adorned.
Though respectfully silent, I was aglow with pride,
Knowing whispered praises for John were justified.
"This carved likeness is not marked by a blemish,
Unlike its subject, the duke, it will never perish."
I watched the funeral procession as it silently crawled
When a nobleman sidled next to me and drawled,
"Come, pretty lass, away from this place of death."
Then he pulled at me, the pain stealing my breath.
His grip firm and unyielding as tempered steel,
His eyes gray and ungleaming as unpolished steel.
My cries of anguish echoed unheard
In a room where tapestries hang unmarred
Till John answered with a mallet swung high,
Replacing my captor's sneer with a cry.
The earl's heir crumpled beside the bed.
My love, in his rage, had struck him dead.
Guards bellowed, "The carver has slain the earl's heir!"
As they took him with haste to the dungeon below the stairs.
They dragged him restrained while I desperately implored,
Leaving a boot-smeared bloodstain, they left, my pleas ignored.
"Your John will pay for his crime," a mocking guard intoned,
"First to the gallows, then let him carve his own gravestone!"
Seeing my John wrapped in a bone-white shroud,
I remembered him saying, smiling and proud,
"In the garden of your face, your cheeks bloom like a rose.
Dew, perched atop petals, sparkle like your eyes, Rose."
Bereft of sparkle, my downcast eyes are bedewed,
Shedding bitter tears, bidding an unspoken adieu.
They buried him in rain near where we first met,
Nearby the rosebush, now dead, brittle, and wet.
The duke, in marble splendor, rests in hallowed ground,
My love's grave is unmarked, save for a tell-tale mound.
"Pink roses are gone, love, only dead ones scatter the ground.
Instead, with shroud-pale roses, your grave will be crowned."
I thought I heard John say, as I knelt at his gravesite,
"Color has fled your cheeks, love, those roses are white."
I wring the thorny stems with my colorless hands,
Then gently cup my cheeks with gore-streaked hands.
"My spattered blood will dye white roses pink again, love.
Bloody tears will make my cheeks bloom again, love."
Gone is my love, only these with me remain. Alack!
My tears, my bloody roses, my wedding veil dyed black,
And a growing reminder of my despair,
An unborn child begot of an earl's heir.
A babe, like a worm, burrowing in my womb,
As worms, even now, gnaw at John in his tomb.

eyes"Ah you know me Emma ill be alright"Starbeard replied half hearted. They
Embraced one final time in a deep tender kiss, the rising sun casting a
golden glow on the two broken hearts..finnaly it is time..
:Starbeard gently lifts her up onto the Wagon:
:He couldnt bare to release her:
The wagon master strikes the team, and the wagon pulls away,Starbeard stands
there deeply saddened untill the wagon slowly disappears over the
horizon..Then turns and enters the guild, walks with a heavy heart too his
room, unaware of the others in the guild, not speaking a word. With head hung

The Bright Light of Blackness
(Submitted by: Slick Sly)
The morning light pierced through the trees like an invisible sword heating
up everything in its path. Parack's scrawny body moved fluently through the
dense woods of Neverwinter. He panted with every step wondering were he was.
His heart beat fast and his feet hurt but he pressed onward.
At first the shuffling in the underbrush was quiet but slowly it got louder.
Parack came to a halt his stomach uneasy. A fireball danced across his
fingers until he released it at the spot where the noise was emanating from.
The brush burst into flames revealing a small rat. He appeared unaffected by
the inferno from Parack's fingers.
Slowly the rat moved forward his eyes fixed on Parack. The scrawny mage
could not stand it! The rat was driving him crazy! He hurled another
fireball at the rat but it dispersed on an invisible shield. Then slowly the
rat turned into a puddle of black. Parack moved over to the puddle heart
racing and head throbbing. As he approached the black pool it started to
move. Slowly it became a hooded figure with no face visible. The black
being moved ever so slowly around Parack and the weak spell caster continued
to throw fireballs at the black demon but the wounds did not seem to stay
long, for they healed with the motion of the man's finger.
Then the figure spoke: "Your petty spells are futile. I can not be
destroyed." Parack tore his eyes away from the god like person and realized
it had turned all black around him. He could see nothing. Then the light
came. It was not a reassuring ray of sunlight though but an evil cruel
bright light. Parack tried to resist but it was hopeless. The bright light
engulfed him and ripped at him. It destroyed his soul and mind and soon
Parack was no more. The light was gone and the sunlight returned but now a
new figure stood in the forest. Not a scrawny lost mage, but now a
thoughtless being. Now there was another searching for a lost soul to take
with the bright light of blackness.
Midnight Confession
(Submitted by: HG Shadow)
Shadow was having another sleepless night and, as had become habit, he
was sitting alone in the dimly lit tavern. He poured himself another ale and
when he set the serving pitcher down on the grey slate table, he began to
laugh. He couldn't help himself as he recalled the havoc caused by the elves
some nights ago. He also couldn't help but revel in the wisdom of his
brethren choosing this table as the "Harpers Table". It was the only table in
Trappy's that was made of stone. By no small coincidence, it was the only
table that had not been replaced or repaired after the "Party".
The Harper had been lost in thought for nearly an hour when he heard
footsteps. This time, he did not get up to leave; the light footfalls padding
down the stairs were ones that he recognized.
"Good evening, M'lady," Shadow spoke from the darkness.
"Shadow??" the Lady Arilyn whispered.
Shadow noticed that her reactions were very good. He could just barely
make out her form in the darkness but saw her press her back against a wall,
a dagger appeared in her hand as she waited for a response.
"Aye, M'lady," the Harper replied. "Would you care to join me?" With a
gesture and a flick of will, Shadow cast Light spells on a number of lamps
that hung near to the table where he was seated. When his eyes adjusted to
the light, he took a long look at Arilyn. She had sheathed her dagger and was
adjusting her nightgown as she crossed the tavern to join him. And what a
nightgown it was! From a distance, it appeared nothing more than a sleeveless
tunic. But as the lovely Harper neared, Shadow saw that it was sewn from
delicate, azure satin that shimmered in the magical lamplight. Along the
neckline and down one side of the gown, an intricate pattern of Moons and
Stars was embroidered in silver thread. It was nothing short of stunning.
Shadow cast a self-conscious glance at his ragged leathers as he rose to
offer Arilyn a seat at his side. She thanked him and before taking his own
seat, he cast another spell and a warm fire was soon crackling in the
fireplace. Once Shadow rejoined her, Arilyn spoke again.
"What are you doing down here?" Arilyn asked, looking slightly angered,
"You scared me half to death! How come you're sitting in the dark, anyway?"
Her ire up, the questions came rapidly.
Shadow smiled and answered, "Sorry about startling you. Sometimes when I
can't sleep, I come down here to think. My room seems.....confining at
times." Shadow took a quick drink before continuing, "As for sitting in the
dark, my mind wanders more freely that way." The Paladin's smile returned as
he faced Arilyn, "Besides, everyone else is asleep....usually."
Arilyn's anger faded, then disappeared, and soon she was smiling also.
"Well....I got hungry and I came down looking for a snack." She laughed a
bit, and Shadow couldn't help but laugh as well. He refilled his mug with ale
and asked if the Ranger would like a drink. "No thanks," she replied,
"Trappy's brew is a little too harsh for me. Besides, I have a craving for
Teriyaki Lizard."
"I'll tell you what," Shadow winked, "You go see what you can find in
the kitchen, and I'll go get something that should be more to your liking."
By the time Arilyn returned from the kitchen with a heaping plate of
Teriyaki Lizard, Shadow had returned to his seat and was working the cork off
of a dusty bottle. After the cork came free, he filled a silver chalice with
the deep, deep red wine and offered it to Arilyn. "Try this and tell me what
you think."
Arilyn accepted the chalice and took a small, cautionary sip. In a
moment, her eyes brightened and a wide smile crossed her lips. After another,
longer sip she replied. "Now THAT is what red wine should taste like!" Shadow
smiled in return and topped off her chalice. Arilyn started on her snack, and
soon the two Harpers were exchanging small bits of information and the latest
news, engrossed in light dinner conversation. But when Arilyn finished her
meal, and Shadow had refilled her chalice once again, the conversation took a
darker turn.
"Shadow," Arilyn asked, "where in Faerun did you get this wine? It is
delicious." She was smiling, but the Paladin began to frown. "I picked it up
in Berdusk, Tarl's hometown. It was to be served at his wedding." The Paladin
let his words trail off. Arilyn's smile disappeared, for she too knew of the
Forces that delayed the marriage of Sharna and Tarl. Arilyn's frown of
sadness turned to puzzlement and her disbelief caused her to speak. "Wait a
minute, you rode all the way to Berdusk for a case of wine?" Shadow smiled
dryly. "Two cases actually, we are Harpers after all. I thought something
other than ale should be served on such an occasion." Shadow refilled his mug
and drank deeply before continuing. "It is called Berduskan Dark. It can be
purchased in other towns, perhaps as nearby as Neverwinter. But the
winemakers always hold out the best wine for the locals."
Arilyn chuckled, "I didn't realize you were a Berduskan local." Shadow
tried to return a weak smile, but the memories that came rushing forward were
painful. "I'm not, but I spent some time in Berdusk as I made my way to
Neverwinter for the first time. That is where I first met Tarl and Renik."
The memories of the three friends, feasting and laughing together made Shadow
wince.
The lovely Ranger saw the reaction and took up one of Shadow's hands in
her own. "Shadow, are you ok?" The Paladin shook his head to clear his mind
and turned to face Arilyn. "M'lady, there is something I have to tell you.
Something that has been troubling me for weeks. But I warn you, it is not
glad news."
Arilyn looked deep into Shadow's steel-gray eyes, and an understanding
smile came to her face. "Shadow, you can tell me anything."
Shadow smiled in relief and then abruptly stood and began pacing back and
forth in front of the fireplace. Now that he had let the memories loose, he
could hardly contain himself. "Arilyn, I haven't told this to anyone....."
the Paladin paused, unsure how to begin. "Renik's death has caused me great
pain and suffering"
"But Shadow, " Arilyn offered, "we all miss Renik dearly."
"No, you don't understand." Shadow was speaking rapidly now, "I foresaw
Renik's death! I knew of the danger. I knew he would be killed. I even knew
it would happen in the Arena. And I did NOTHING!" Arilyn was silent. She
could do no more than stare, mouth agape.
"For weeks before his death, I had re-occuring dreams." Shadow had
lowered his voice to a whisper. "They took many forms, had different
characters, but in each an evil, malicious creature killed one that was good
and pure while commonfolk wagered on the outcome."
The Ranger had adjusted to the shock and was regaining her composure.
"How could you know it was him? Dream-visions are always vague. You couldn't
have known it would be Renik."
Shadow had stopped pacing and now stood facing the fire, shaking his
head in response. "No. There were clues. I should have picked up on them, but
I failed." He then turned abruptly and faced Arilyn. "But this isn't what I
had to tell you....this is all past. My mistake that I must live with. I must
tell you what is happening in the present."
Arilyn wasn't sure if she could bear to hear any more. Her heart ached
at the thought of Shadow blaming himself for Renik's death, and she couldn't
imagine what other ill tale he had to tell. She poured herself another cup of
wine to steady herself. At last, she replied. "Tell me."
Shadow returned to his seat and spoke urgently. "I'm having the Dreams
again. I have even been writing down what I can remember when I wake." He
took hold of Arilyn's hand again. "But these are stronger. At times, they
come to me when I am awake!"
Arilyn didn't hesitate, "Tell me about them."
"They are similar to the last," Shadow began, "the characters in the
Dream are always animals. Rabbits, birds, deer it makes no difference, the
dream is still the same." Shadow tightened his grip on Arilyns hand. "Two
creatures are traveling together. Suddenly, they are ambushed and one of them
is killed, while the other manages to kill all of the attackers. The survivor
continues down the path unharmed, but sick somehow. Shorty after, the second
creature dies, apparently without cause. A short time later, from the body of
the second creature, a third creature emerges. It is different from the other
two and shines with a bright light. Then the Dream ends."
Arilyn was concentrating on what she had heard, her mind racing at the
possibilities. "Shadow, you spoke about 'clues' in your last dream. What
about this one?"
Shadow nodded his head. "Aye, from what I gather the first creature is
younger. Inexperienced, weaker perhaps. And it is not as well known to me.
The second creature is much more than the first. Older, wiser, stronger
perhaps." The Paladin shook his head at his lack of comprehension. "But I am
sure that the second creature is very well known to me. One of the Harpers.
The Guild itself, perhaps."
Arilyn was stunned. "No wonder you have trouble sleeping! You think you
have forseen the fall of the Harpers Guild?"
"I don't know," Shadow was shaking his head again, his eyes pleading for
understanding, "I was just trying to make sense of it all. It was the third
creature that gave me the thought, for it rose from the body of the second.
Perhaps a disbanding to be reunited as something different." Shadow muscles
tightened and he began clenching his fist. "I don't know...I just don't know.
Something good comes from the death, but I fear nonetheless. What I do know,
is that something terrible is going to happen."
Arilyn had no response. There was nothing she could say. Her own fears
were beginning to rise up in her. She couldn't imagine how Shadow had managed
to bear this burden alone. Her mind was reeling, filled with thoughts of loss
and death, but instinct told her what to do. Without a word, she pulled
Shadow close and held him in her arms. She held him close until she could
feel the muscles in his broad back relax. The knots in his shoulders eased
and at last, she released him.
Shadow silently held Arilyn's gaze. He too, could not find the words to
speak, but the look of gratitude on his face spoke volumes. Cupping the Lady
Arilyn's face in his hands, Shadow placed a single, light kiss on her lips.
As he drew back, words returned to him. "Arilyn, thank you for hearing me. I
feel as if I have been released from torture."
Arilyn blushed slightly as she took up the Paladin's hands in her own.
"Shadow, I will hear you anytime."
Hand in hand, lost in each other's eyes, the two Harpers sat together in
silence as the warm, yellow light of a new dawn crept it's way into the
tavern.

watching over him, And besides no one whould dare attack us here." States
Pheonix.
As if on cue, a cold wind fills the Hall and half of the fires go out,
the ones that remain lit, burn low giving almost no light or heat.A strange
mist rolls in under the great doors of the hall floats over to the center of
the room and begins to solidify into.........
" Saul....." Growls Rune
" So.... You know of me.....Good it will make my task that much
easier.Hand over the pathetic whelp you call a god,And I will spare your
worthless lives.!"Says Saul
The only sound to be heard is the sound of many swords bieng drawn from
their sheaths.
" YOU DARE CHALLENGE ME, DO YOU KNOW WHO I AM ! " Shouts Saul
" A dead man ! " Says Clam never one to be quiet long, to the snickers
of many Knights
" HAHAHAHAHAHAHA...... You dont know how true that statement is foolish
mortal." Suddenly Saul extends his hands out and shouts " Come to me my
minions and drink deep of the blood of these petty fools!
The doors to the hall begin to glow orange then explode into a thousand
fragments, the fragments fly into the room followed by many dark shapes. The
air is charged with magical energy as Globe of invulnerability is cast almost
simultaneous by all the Knights,
Chronos and Turel are a blur of motion as they leap over the large table
seperating them from Saul, but as soon as their feet hit the ground they are
intercepted by the first wave of Camarilla Warriors,The two Knights manage to
get back to back and begin the perilous dance with the Vampires....
Rune watches the onslaught for a few seconds then tells KF Pheonix..."
Theres too many of them,Go." he points to the door they were guarding" Take
Torm and the Knights in there, seal this door, go out through the secret
door, keep Torm safe !"
Pheonix looks at Rune stunned" I'll not flee a battle!"
" Damnit, we dont have time to argue, I'm not asking, I'm telling
you,GET IN THERE AND GET TORM TO SAFETY !" Rune grabs Pheonix by the
shoulder" We'll hold em as long as we can."
With that Pheonix goes into the back room, and Rune moves into a
defensive position in front of the door!
KF Bossman is the first to reach V Saul......And the first to feel his
unholy wrath .Saul casts fumble on Bossman,Boss drops his sword...and when he
tries to pick it up he trips over his own feet.Boss is on the ground on his
knees ....so he doesnt even see the vicous overhand swing Saul uses to send
him sprawling on the floor unconscience.
KF Jazmn fighting for her life against two of the nightspawns, she knows
she cant keep up this pace for much longer, already she is bleeding from a
dozen wounds. She smiles as she thrusts her sword forward and feels it cut
through the flesh of the creatures abdomen, but her look quickly turns to one
of horror as the Vampiress reaches down and grabs hold of her sword and pulls
it out of her hands, the second attacker siezes the opportunity to strike, but
Jazmn expected this attack, she moves to her right reaching out to grab the
Vampire behind his head and using the momentum of his leap she slams his head
into the wall, then suddenly she is attacked from behind by yet another
Vampire, although she struggles valiantly she is soon laying in a puddle of
her own blood.
V Saul standing in the center of the room surveys the carnage as one by
one the Knights fall.As he looks around he see's Rune and Clam fighting side
by side, and doing quite well judging by the number of bodies lying on the
floor around them, Saul casts dimension door and teleports himself behind
Rune and Clam, reaching out with one hand he grabs Clam by the neck and
launches him into the wall headfirst, there is a resounding thud, and Clam
slumps to the floor.Rune turns to face his new adversary and without missing
a beat he casts slay on Saul, Saul growls as Runes belief in his god burns
Saul and causes blisters to raise on his skin,Saul strikes out at rune with a
backhand swing knocking Rune across the room, Before Rune can regain his
senses there are three Vampires holding him down.
" You will pay for that you insolent dog." Says Saul as he draws his
Enchanted dagger " Any last words before you go?" asks Saul
" yea..." Says Rune " No matter what they say....youre still just a
flying rat"
Saul raises the dagger high over his head preparing for the final
strike..............
Suddenly the hall is filled with a resounding yell.
" NOOOOOOOOO "
So commanding is the tone everyone stops in their tracks and turns their
gaze to the man who yelled it!Standing in the middle of the room is a large
man, his armor polished to a mirrorlike shine although it it curently covered
in gore and blood!
" Stay your hand Saul."says the man
" Is that a demand?" Asks Saul
Quickly Chronos surveys the room, Noticing only he and KF Turel are
still standing while several of the Nosferatu remain.
" No .....it is a plea." Says the proud man, his eyes never leaving the
calm stare of the lead Vampire.
With that Lord Saul breaks out with evil mocking laughter
" Hahahahaha.........And why pray tell should I ?"
Thinking quickly Chronos responds
" Because I offer you something better......."
" I'm listening. "Says Saul his interest now piqued
" I offer you my life in exchange for Runes." Says Chronos
" Hahahahahahaha..........You have a high opinion of yourself dont you.
Besides what makes you think I wont kill you next anyway."laughs Saul
" I didnt offer you my death......I offered you my LIFE.Even you need to
sleep, and who better to look after you in the daylight hours than one who
does not fear the sun."says Chronos
" I have powerful demons to watch me while I sleep." says Saul
"And I could slay them all single handedly." Chronos bluffs
" Let me see if i got this straight........You will follow me and do my
bidding in exchange for this mortals life?"
" For as long as you live." states Chronos
" How do I know you will not wait untill I am asleep and then try to
kill me?" says Saul
" You have my word!"
" THEN SWEAR IT !" Demands Saul
" DONT DO IT CHRONOS" Shouts Rune but is rewarded by a kick from Saul
" I Chronos Silverglade do hearby swear fealty to Saul, Lord of the
Camarilla for as long as He shall live!"
" Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha ......Darkheart?" says Saul
" Yes" says Darkheart
" Blindfold Chronos and take it back to the Camarilla"
Chronos stands fast staring at Saul.........
Staring Chronos straight in the eye Saul says" Selene, Reaper, Greyfire,
gather our wounded and lets go....................... For now" as a smile
crosses his face
Chronos allows himself to be pushed towards the door with no further
resistance,as he walks he says a silent prayer to Torm" Torm watch over the
Knights and help them to prepare for the return of these foul creatures."
As they walk the back streets of Neverwinter Darkheart takes great
pleasure in telling Chronos about some of the "Games" theyre going to play
once they get back to the
Camarilla!...................................................................................

Death of a Sol
(Submitted by: BSA Enigma)
Most town dwellers know of the Alley of Sorrows. Even in full daylight no
shaft of light can breach the gloom of this place. Should any go down it
delivering casks of ale or baskets of bread to the backdoors of the inns,
they find their attention irresistibly drawn to the plaque detailing the
death of a stonemason who worked on one of the buildings. Only the mage
trained would see that the plaque is charmed and that its real purpose is to
distract all notice from the small doorway on the opposite side of the alley.
Inset one hand's breath within the wall the door has the appearance of not
having been opened since the building was constructed. The bronze bands
holding the the thick door planks cut from the tree of thorns have turned
green with age. The stone arch above the door has a keystone with a small
death's head sculpted on it. Beneath this dreaded sign of the assassin stands
a figure clad in black. Despite the lack of light it's plain that there is
more than darkness which prevents the eye from being able to focus on the
form. His hands move in a rhythm which only the graveyard crows would find
pleasing. The eyes in the stone death's head begin to give off a pale green
light. As the forces of his casting build, the very air is alive with a
tension that would drop a strong man to his knees. Though the door remains
closed he moves forward and passes through it. Once again the Alley of
Sorrows falls back into quiet insignificance.
With a grace born of the dance of death the assassin moves down the torch lit
passageway. 2 turns to the right, 1 to the left, 1 to the right. A single
wrong turn would result in being snared in the nets of void spawned creatures
which roam all other paths through this maze. He pauses in front of a
unremarkable section of wall and pushes. Soundlessly the wall swings inward
to reveal a vacant candle lit chamber. He knows better than to try to cross
this warded threshold. From his sleeve he pulls a dagger. The glint of the
steel blade is muted by dried blood and poison. He tosses a scroll far into
the room and with no break in movement throws the dagger. The spinning scroll
is caught in mid air and pinned to the back of the only chair in the room.
The black ribbon around the scroll is cut allowing it to be read:

Hail BSA Cyric
Grandfather of Assassins
Bane of the Ungodly
As you have instructed, the contract on Sol Noble has been fulfilled. He was
slaughtered like a sheep in the sewers in full view of all who dared to
watch. The kill was given to BSA Venom as he had yet to make his bones. It is
sad to note that this Sol did not live up to his name. With each drop of his
cowardly blood he whined and pleaded. Inform our patron that if he wishes to
confirm the kill that he contracted for, Noble's head was placed on a pike in
the village square for the crow's to feed on his eyes. I trust that this
discounted contract ( it seemed hardly worth the time of trained assassins )
will be paid in the usual maner.
