TAVERN TALES
-------------------

Wednesday night, September 29th in the Great Hall Tavern, the answer to the
burning question "WHO DUNNIT!?!" was revealed. Back in the beginning of the
month, one of Neverwinter's fair maidens, Trena, of the Brotherhood of
Pathfinder's Guild was murdered at the Great Hall Tavern - END OF SUMMER
GALA! It was a tragedy and the Realm mourned its loss.

Trena's ghost visited the Great Hall Tavern regularly, bestowing clues as to
Who killed her, What they killed her with, and Why they killed her. Finally,
after all the clues had been given, it was revealed that Doombrnger killed
Trena, with a dagger because of his lust for her.

Congratulations to Talies1n, NightRuner and Dramia for correctly guessing the
Who, What and Why! For sending his email first, Talies1n wins 6 free hours
of online fun! For sending his email second, NightRuner wins 3 free hours of
online fun and for sending in her email third, Dramia wins 1 free hour of
online fun!

Coming in October..... The Great Hall Tavern's HARVEST FESTIVAL - a month
long celebration!!! Come to the Tavern and enjoy "Bobbing For Apples,"
"Pumpkin Carving," and "Raking Leaves." Come enjoy a moonlit "Hayride" as
you sip warmed cider! Later in the month, be sure to attend the Great Hall
Tavern's Halloween parties! Come "dressed" as your favorite ghoul or monster
during our "Monster Mash!"

There will be something new and different to do every Wednesday and Friday
night from 10pm until Midnight. And as always, NWT Nasti will be serving up
the finest spirits in the Realm! (And maybe a ghost or two as well!)

LOOKING DOWN ON THE REALM
(Submitted by: KILLUM)
-----------------------------------------
C0ld Chill was seen in Neverwinter Square on Thursday, September 23 between
01:52 and 02:00 EDT distributing +2 items and assorted gems to a few of the
less experienced adventurers of the realm. C0ld Chill's explanation, amid a
rather large and decidedly stupid smile was simply, "I'm a nice guy now!"

While the newer citizens present did not realize that something was "a mite
peculiar" about this, Fable was heard to mutter, "Steady me, I'm going to
faint", while Killum succinctly noted, "He's actually more annoying when he's
like this."

Killum's Quote of the Week:

This week's quote comes from Fable (mentioned above):

"I tossed an enlarge at 'im. He can carry an elephant right now if he has
the inventory slots."

GOOD SAMARITAN
-----------------------
I would like to congratulate this weeks Good Samaritan Award winner the noble
Fighter Sir Daren! Because of his kindness, help, and knowledge that he
passed on to others he was chosen for this award. Once again congrats!

DUPRE'S TIP OF THE WEEK!
:::Hitting large cymbal with mallet::::
GONG!!!!

This week we'll be going hunting for Shambling Mounds! These foul critter
are like a great mass of rotting vegetation, which has been brought to life
by the magic of the Dark God known as "Moander".

Found near the swamps of Longsaddle and the Woods, these rotting garbage
heaps actually carry some great treasures! Adventurer's have reported
finding Cloaks of Displacement, Ioun Stones, +3 Plate Armour, +1 Shields and
even magical rings and weapons among its hoard of treasures :)

Since Mounds are very immune to most damage spells (especially Lightning
Bolts and Fireballs!), tis a good idea to use a bit of strategy when battling
them, I'ld suggest trying those Magic Missile spells, and Hold Monster spells
too!.

Tis also known that there's is a bug with the casting of the Magic User's
"Fire Shield" spell while battling Mounds - and I'ld recommend thee read
about this topic next time your in the "New Members Area" (There's a ton of
great other information in there too!:).

LOVE IN THE AIR!

The real life people behind the characters of Elanor and Annael, have become
engaged. Elanor and Annael met here in Neverwinter, and the other night
Annael popped the question, to which Elanor responded with a yes.

Please join in congratulating them, as they continue their relationship
together, both online and offline.

--==*  Dupre's Tips of the Week  *==--

Questions, questions, questions! At times its hard to know where to look for
the answers too! Thus, here's a few tips on where to start:

The Neverwinter Nights "Players Journal" and "Rules Book" are available for
downloading inside the area titled "NWN Upgrades & Documentation" (its a menu
selection, located on the main "AD&D Neverwinter" menu).

Inside the "New Members Area" you can view files regarding "Known Bugs",
"Dual Class Requirements", "Listing of PvP regions", and much much more.
There's also a message base in this area which contains such folders as "Tips
for New Players" too!

Have you always wanted to send AOL's customer relations department a memo, or
had some questions regarding billing, screen names, logon passwords? Aye!
Try out the nifty keyword HELP - its leads to a "Free" online area which
contains all sorts of helpful information.

SUPER BASH III BREAKS RECORDS
------------------------------------------
Super Bash III was off to a great start by breaking the in-game record with a
peak of 196 in the game!

The skies where alight with fireballs and feebs when Super Bash III got under
way. Intense battles raged in the areas of WC woods, Berun and Longsaddle
shortly after the Bash began.

The on the spot reporter made his first stop in the dungeons of Longsaddle.
To find what appeared to be a track meet. It seemed that Natasha666 held one
of the GOC flags and was running circles in the dungeon with packs of
persuers hot on her trail. Remarks from "Who the heck hasted her?!" to "Jeez
I shouldn't have eaten such a big breakfast!" and "Hey next time she flies
through here trip her will ya?!" could be heard ringing throughout the halls.
In another dungeon of Longsaddle Dark Anjel and Dark Extasy were protecting
the second flag belonging to GOC. In efforts to confuse the pursuers the two
repeatedly traded the flag amongst themselves. This conversation was recorded
from the two:

Dark Anjel: I don't have it I handed it to you!
Dark Extasy: No way! I gave it to you check your inventory!
Dark Extasy: Maybe we gave it to Blooddrnkr?
Dark Anjel: Ack! I do have it!

Cold Chill was reported as saying: DINGBATS!!!!

In other areas of the realms intense battles for the flags belonging to the
ITB and OGS guilds raged. The ITB's successfully repelled the attacks for
nearly the entire event before eventually losing them to a tide of oncoming
attackers, while the OGS managed to retain one of its flags.

The MCA with a very small contingent managed to hold on to both its flags
while snatching up a third. Azagthoth was reported as saying "Hey, If I kill
myself and I have the flag I can keep it right?".

Unofficial results of the Super Bash are as follows:

1st place tie going to
GOC and the Grey Knight/Shadow alliance with four flags each.

2nd place
MCA with three flags.

3rd place
Grey Co. / Society Of Stone with two flags.

4th place tie
Crusaders Of the Realm/White Mages and Order of the Golden Staff with one
flag each.

Thank you all who participated for making this the best Super Bash yet!!

Ah Autumn! The seeds that were lovingly planted with great expectations in
Spring and nurtured by the warmth of the Summer sun, have matured and ripened
into the Bounty of Autumn.

Autumn, when God uses His brightest palette as He splashes the countryside
with romantic reds, outrageous oranges, yardfulls of yellow and every hue in
between. Autumn, when the smell from burning leaves and fallow fields waft
though the subconscious invoking memories of years gone by. Autumn, when the
tanginess of apple cider clings to the breath and spice cookies crumble on
the tongue. Autumn.

Visit the Great Hall Tavern as we pay homage to Autumn with our HARVEST
FESTIVAL. All month long special events are planned that are sure to please
all the senses.

Online fun! And Rome grabbed 15 apples and wins 1 Free Hour of Online fun!

TAVERN TALES
-------------------
The slight chill of Autumn crackled through the air as the group from the
Great Hall Tavern set out for an moonlit hayride last Friday evening, October
15th. NWT Nasti loaded the wagon with several kegs of ale and plenty of
tasty fare. The night promised to be clear as the silvery moon smiled down
upon the group, lighting their way for laughter and adventure.

They progressed rolling along at a slow pace, only stopping to pickup new
arrivals. When most had begin feeling the pull of the ale on their senses,
Gladior began an impromptu game of "Taboo." During the more playful
intervals poor Nystramo was turned into everything from a gnoll to a troll.
Twas surely a wonderful time had by all as most were reluctant to let the
evening end.

--o--

Wednesday night, October 20th, the Great Hall Tavern hosted "Oktoberfest '93"
which has fondly been nicknamed, "Drinkfest '93." After only one drink,
both Premol and Tar Ritan passed out cold and fell to the floor. JHARYD
followed soon after and Darin Arc tried to use mind over ale in order to
intimidate the fine Dwarven brew, yet he too fell victim to its sweet
oblivion.

Congratulations to N1ghtRuner who was able to remain standing after consuming
the most ale. N1ghtRuner wins FOUR FREE HOURS OF ONLINE FUN for his amazing
temperance. SkyDiver 1 was also able to hang onto consciousness after
consuming the second most ale and wins TWO FREE HOURS OF ONLINE FUN.
Tarshara, representing the Ladies of the Realm, put most of the men present
to shame by consuming the third most ale. Tarshara wins ONE FREE HOUR OF
ONLINE FUN for her feat. I wonder if the guests who participated will cringe
next time they hear the toast, "BOTTOM'S UP!"

--o--

COMING....Wednesday, October 27th from 10pm until Midnight (Eastern) the
Great Hall Tavern will host a PUMPKIN CARVING CONTEST!!!

Go forth in the Realm and seek out a fine pumpkin suitable for carving and
bring it to the Great Hall Tavern Wednesday night. Using rolls of the dice,
Pumpkin "Artists" will try and carve two eyes (two 6's).....a nose (a 1 and a
3)....and a mouth (two 4's) via turns, using the chat command: //ROLL.

Be the first to carve your pumpkin and win FOUR FREE HOURS OF ONLINE FUN!!!
Be the second to carve your pumpkin and win TWO FREE HOURS OF ONLINE FUN!!!
And be the third person to carve your pumpkin and win ONE FREE HOUR OF ONLINE
FUN!!!

--o--

COMING..... Friday, October 29th from 10pm until Midnight (Eastern) the Great
Hall Tavern presents a MASQUERADE BALL!!!

Be outrageous! Be courageous! Be mysterious! Be mischievous! Come
