News of the Realm This weeks news throughout the realm! SuperBash has been seen lurking about the realm, could this mean something is in the works? Let's hope so!!! An all NWN Bash is being planned for the spring! See the Events Message Board for details! Saturday, September 18th is Bloodlines Quest! Have you registered your team with NW Events yet? Don't wait until the last minute! Register your team now!! LordTyrian is this weeks recipient of the Good Samaritan Award! Congratulations to him for being the winner of this award and many thanks for his assisting of other players in the realm! In real life news, NWA Cyric has become a proud father this week. On September 9th, Cyric's wife gave birth to a baby girl, Kathleen. She weighed in at 7lbs. 9oz. and was 21 inches long at birth. Both mother and daughter are doing fine. Congratulations and best of luck to NWA Cyric and his entire family. Rumor has it that a new gate had to be installed at 0,7 of the West Central Woods late Saturday evening. The large number of bodies that hit the gate during the course of several large combats in that region made this a necessity. News of the Realm is to be a weekly news item about events both in and out of character that affect Neverwinter Nights. You'll find it updated here each weekend and will contain news of events, weddings, leadership changes and whatever news we can come up with. If this is well received a screen name will be established which players can e-mail news items to that they would like posted in the news. Registration ends at 8:00 PM EDT in time for the quest to begin at 9:00 PM EDT. The winner will inherit one of the largest fortunes in Neverwinter and have control over the Banker family riches. Come fight for your side! Cyril represents good, and Ellis evil. Who will be victorious? Come find out! HELP! HELP! ----------- Dupre's "Tip of the Week" - Greetings Adventurers! Here's a few tips for new adventurers starting out inside the Neverwinter realms. First off, though Neverwinter City might seem safe enough, the nearby regions aren't! Monsters laying in wait abound, ready to attack the unwary - Thus, tis a good idea to meet some fellow adventurers while in Neverwinter City who will 'join up' with you to form a group. As the old saying goes .... "There's safety in numbers!". Having trouble meeting fellow adventurers while in Neverwinter City? Aye, then I'ld suggest you look into joining one of the Neverwinter "Guilds" (there's complete info about the guilds inside the "New Members Area" and "About the Guilds of Neverwinter"). Most guild members are more than happy to offer assistance to their new members ... plus its nice to have some allies when the going gets rough :) -NW Dupre :) THERE IS LOVE IN THE AIR AMONG THE PATHFINDERS!! ------------------------------------------------ Neverwinter was blessed with two marriages this week! Dramia and Vu1can were wed last Saturday 9/11, and Zarlena and Darin Arc were wed Thursday 9/16. Services were held at the BOP temple in the West central Woods. Let all of Neverwinter extend congratulations to these two fine couples! NEW SHOP OPENS IN NEVERWINTER ----------------------------- In a related story, Vu1can and Dramia have opened a weapons shop in the Southeast Woods. The land which the shop resides on was purchased from Dragon Holdings Corp. for an undetermined price. Sources close to the deal say that Handler1, Owner of DHC, at the last moment gave in to the cute couple and let Vu1can and Dramia have the land for a steal. ;) SURGEON GENERALS WARNING: POSTING ON THE BOARDS MAY BE HAZARDOUS TO YOUR HEALTH! ---------------------------- NW Aerich will be away from the realms from 9/25 through 10/26. He is active duty Army, and will be travelling with his unit (The Buccaneers) to a mystical magical place called The National Training Center. The purpose of this trip is to train maneuver elements how to interact during war. NW Aerich will be falling asleep to the wonderful sounds of tanks and artillery for his thirty one day stay. (You ought to get some good rest then eh Aerich? :>) NW Brutus has agreed to fill in for NW Aerich during his absence (for a small price of course ;>). Rumor has it that Brutus has purchased a cattle prod for his watch of the boards. BASH! BASH! BASH! ----------------- Now is the time to beat up on your favorite guild!! Super Bash has initiated "SUPER BASHIII". Guild leaders interested in participating in this event, or anyone interested in receiving more information, should send email to "SUPER BASH". The Guild of Chaos has won this event both years, will there be a threepeat? Meet the person behind the name! Plans are underway for the NWN Spring bash. The Spring bash will be tentatively held on April 15th, 16th, and 17th in Chicago. Check the events board for further details. Yes you guessed it he has changed his ways and now intends to bring good to all of Neverwinter! Recently it was heard that he has turned in an application to the Crusaders Of the Realm, and has already found some support from the members. SUMMIT OF THE GUILD LEADERS ----------------------------------------- With SUPER BASH III drawing near the Super Bash Planning committee called for a meeting of the guild leaders to discuss the rules and plans for this years super bash. The summit was held Saturday night September 25th, and details should be forthcoming! HELP! HELP! --------------- Dupre's Tip of the Week! :> Ahhh, So your planning on going hunting for Dracholiches! Well, here's some advice that just might help ye outwit these foul critters ..... Seeing how Dracholiches (Drac's) can attack with Fire, Cold and a Paralyzing gaze - My 1st bit of advice would be to cast protection spells before even entering the battle. If possible try casting Bless, Protection from Evil, Resist Cold, Resist Fire, Prayer and Mirror Image(s). Just be sure NOT to cast an INVISIBILITY spell, as there is currently a "bug" within the NWN V1.0 game (there's complete information about the "Drac/Invis" bug inside the "New Members Area"). Some adventurer's have also found that it sometimes helps to "ready" a mirror, as there's a possibility that it might reflect the Drac's gaze. Ok, so now your inside the Drac's lair, now what!? Well, these Drac's do have a few major weaknesses - They hate fireballs, and for some odd reason they are TERRIBLE shots with there own "breath attacks"! Thus, tis a good idea to let loose Fireballs until you've either killed them all - or they killed themselves :> DWARFS GET HITCHED! ----------------------------- Nystramo and Krishara of The Society of the Stone are happy to announce their Hearth Building (wedding to you humans) on Oct. 16 at 11 pm. The Hearth Building will take place at 0,10 in The Lost Hills, where they plan to make their home. All are invited to this joyous occasion.
